High-Voltage Harness Content Expands Across EV Platforms
High-voltage harness penetration has grown from roughly 8% of total demand in 2021 to an estimated 18% to 22% today, as battery electric and hybrid platforms proliferate across nearly every automaker's product lineup worldwide and across most vehicle segments. This shift is the single biggest driver of harness value growth this decade, since high-voltage sets command meaningfully higher pricing than conventional low-voltage alternatives given their thicker gauge copper and specialized insulation requirements. Suppliers with validated high-voltage engineering capability are winning EV platform contracts faster than competitors still offering only conventional low-voltage harness designs.
Market Impact: Sensors grew to 20 per vehicle
