Connected Sensor-Equipped PPE Gains Enterprise Adoption
Large industrial employers are increasingly adopting connected PPE incorporating sensors that monitor fit, usage compliance, and hazard exposure in real time, moving beyond passive protective equipment toward active safety management systems that generate documented compliance records. Honeywell Safety Products and 3M have both expanded connected PPE product lines over the past two years specifically to serve large enterprise mining, construction, and manufacturing accounts. At least a handful of major industrial employers have piloted fleet-wide connected respiratory and hearing protection programs since 2023, and safety directors report these programs are measurably reducing recordable incident rates compared with conventional equipment.
